Ancestors

The purpose of this site is to consolidate all documented references to the earliest Leinen ancestors, specifically Theis, Peter, Claus, and Jost. I would like to determine if Leinen ancestors migrated to the Besseringen area from somewhere else.  

Eduard Pese’s website makes claim that Theis Leynen was born in Bamberg around 1520, which I have to reject since there is no documented source for it.  Pese's website  does include information from  sources such as Reinhold Junges Mettlach Family Book, but there is no mention of Theis Leynen coming from Bamberg, or anywhere else for that matter.  

The earliest Leinen ancestor reference can be found in the book, "Besseringen - Die Gesckichte eines Saardorfes" where there is mention of a deceased Claus Lynen in the Besseringen tax records from year 1519.
